Hello and welcome to the 122nd Cattlemen’s Days! I hope you enjoy the celebration, whether it is your first, or you have been attending for years. My name is Clara Cranor, and I am the daughter of Walter and Margaret Cranor. I am very honored and excited to be the 2022 Cattlemen’s Queen and represent my beautiful hometown of Gunnison. I also have the immense honor of being able to hold the title of Cattlemen’s Days Queen for a second year. This is very exciting as I have been able to attend more events and learned a lot which I hope to pass on.
I graduated from Norwich University in Vermont last spring where I earned a bachelor’s in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics and I was a part of the NU Corps of Cadet Cavalry Troop for all four years. Though it has been a year since graduation, we have been busy on the ranch and I am very thankful I have been able to be home to help my family. Calving was an adventure this year between two mountain lion cubs in the sheds and getting to play bull fighter with angry momma cows! This summer, along with being the Cattlemen’s Days Queen, I am working full time, helping my father on our ranch, and volunteering on the 4-H Horse Committee. Following the conclusion of my reign in the fall I plan to join the United States Army.
In my spare time I enjoy working with my horses, drawing, coding, cooking, and playing piano. I want to thank my whole family for their continued support as well as those who serve and protect our nation. Lastly, I want to thank everyone who has supported Cattlemen’s Days throughout the years and allowed for this amazing event to keep going. The great sport of rodeo would not be able to continue without the incredible support it receives. See you all at the rodeo!
