DESCRIPTION:Cattlemen’s Days is one of Colorado’s oldest rodeos. An important aspect of the events has always been the Cattlemen’s Days Queen and her Court. Many young women have successfully served as the public face of Cattlemen’s Days 4-H and PRCA rodeo contestants and spectators. \nGunnison County women between ages 8 to 24 can compete. \nPlease see the Royalty Tryout Page for more information and an application. \nTryouts Itinerary\nGunnison County Rodeo Grounds\nDraw for Order in each category done day before and posted  \n9:00 am – Huddle for introductions & questions in the South end of Grandstands\n9:15 am – Horsemanship with horsemanship interview \n\n2026 Queen Sets Pattern for Queen Contestants + Showing at end of Pattern where to ride to and facilitate horsemanship interview with judges\n2027 Queen Contestants to Follow in Draw Order (done day before & posted)\n(Same Order for Princess & Junior Miss)\nQueen Wave Laps- Following 2026 Queen into Arena\n\n10:45 – 11:00 am Break/Regroup/Change if contestants would like\n11:00 am –  Personal Interviews in Draw Order \n\nQueen Contestants\nPrincess Contestants\nJunior Miss Contestants\n\n12:00 pm- Lunch with impromptu questions x2/3 \n\nQueen + Contestants\nPrincess + Contestants\nJunior Miss + Contestants\n\nOnce the morning events have concluded\, the contestants and royalty committee will meet to talk about logistics of the Coronation Event. Contestants will return to the Fred Field Cement room by 4:30 to assist with the event\, participate in the fashion show and answer one last impromptu questions during dinner. \nResults will be tallied after Dinner \nAnnouncement of 2027 Cattlemen’s Days Royalty \nSigning of Contracts \nAll times are approximate; depending on the number of contestants the times may be altered appropriately. \nBest of luck to everyone trying out!
