DESCRIPTION:Enter the Parade \nNew Parade Route Information for 2026 \n“As the agency responsible for public safety and mobility on state highways\, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has determined that\, due to increasing traffic and associated safety concerns\, parade activities will no longer be permitted on Highway 50. \n“While change can be difficult\, our community has always adapted while honoring its traditions. In that spirit\, the City of Gunnison and Cattlemen’s Days organizers have developed an alternative route that promises to be every bit as exciting and memorable. \n“What’s new? The parade will continue to begin at American Legion Memorial Park\, then proceed west on Virginia Avenue before turning north onto Main Street and concluding before Denver Avenue. Much of the parade experience remains unchanged\, and the 100 block of North Main Street will be activated with a variety of engaging attractions. Stay tuned for additional details in the coming weeks. \n“We know this parade holds a special place in the hearts of residents and visitors alike. We value its history and tradition\, and we also share a commitment to the safety of parade participants\, livestock\, floats\, volunteers and spectators. For that reason\, we support prioritizing safety while preserving this beloved community celebration. \n“We look forward to seeing everyone out there for another unforgettable Cattlemen’s Days Parade.”
